As with every new year, there are certain things you want to take with you and other things you want to leave behind — with the New Year’s hangover being a hard GTFO. Nobody wants to hold back on celebrating what’s passed and what’s to come, but at the same time nobody wants to pay the price that goes with it.

8. BC Powder: A Quick Fix for Hangover Relief

When you're dealing with a hangover, sometimes you need something a little extra to kickstart your recovery. Enter BC Powder — a trusted over-the-counter remedy that’s been around for decades and known for its fast-acting relief.

This powdered pain reliever is packed with aspirin, caffeine, and sometimes other ingredients designed to target headaches, body aches, and general discomfort. It absorbs fast, reduces swelling in your head, provides fast pain relief, and is easy as hell to use.

7. Cold Exposure (Ice Bath, Cold Shower)

Alotta guys think ice baths are for peak athletes and crazy Dutchmen, but trust me — an ice bath is the best thing you can do to get rid of the God-awful nausea and spins that accompany a hangover.

Seriously, just sit in cold water up to your neck for two minutes and you’ll be 90% functional. If you don’t have access to an ice bath, crank your shower to as cold as it gets and sit on the shower floor for at least two minutes. It’s like putting your nervous system into “reset” mode; it really works.

6. Hydrate the Right Way

This one sounds obvious, but don’t underestimate the power of proper hydration. While water is essential, you need to replenish the electrolytes that alcohol depletes. Sports drinks with electrolytes or coconut water are your best friends, Pedialyte’s pretty solid, too. They’ll help restore your body’s balance and keep the headaches at bay.

Ginger tea is also a great option to soothe any upset stomach symptoms or nausea. Your best bet is to have two glasses of water, a sports drink, and a ginger tea all right next to you and keep sipping on all of them.

5. Eggs & Avocado

Food might be the absolute last thing on your mind during a hangover, but trust me, a good breakfast will speed up the recovery process. Be sure to include eggs (the protein helps to repair cells and boost energy) and avocado (packed with healthy fats that your body needs). The combination of these two will give your body the building blocks it needs to repair itself quickly and efficiently.

4. Wear Drawlz (No, Seriously)

Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a big impact. If you’re struggling with the remnants of a hangover, throw on a pair of snug, supportive boxer briefs like Drawlz. The comfort of good underwear can help you feel grounded and ready to take on the day, no matter how you’re feeling after the night before. Plus, we just released the Limited Edition 2025 DBG Gold Anniversary Pack — don’t miss out.

3. Vitamin Boost: B-Complex and Vitamin C

Alcohol takes a toll on your body, especially your vitamin levels. Vitamin B and C are essential for energy and recovery, and taking a B-complex supplement along with vitamin C can give your body the nutrients it needs to bounce back.

B vitamins help your body deal with stress (something we all need after a wild night), while vitamin C aids in detoxifying and healing. Consider adding these to your hangover cure toolkit—they’ll work wonders especially when paired with the solid breakfast and cold exposure.

2. Forward Fold → Massage Your Head and Neck

Instead of suffering through the classic hangover headache, give yourself a little TLC. A quick massage and stretch can improve blood flow, reduce muscle tightness, and even relieve pain.

First, bring your feet hips width apart parallel to each other. Add a slight bend in the knees, breathe in deeply, and slowly fall forward as you exhale. Grab opposite elbows and let your head hang. You will probably feel a strong tightness in your lower neck to mid-back. Just hang here for 10 long, deep breaths.

After you’re done with the forward fold, sit down and gently massage your neck, working your way up to the base of the skull. Move to massaging your scalp, then temples, and finally your jaw. These areas are where tension builds up during a hangover, and loosening them up is key to reducing the headache.

1. Breathing Exercises

This truly is the secret hidden hangover cure nobody takes seriously — but it works.

When you breathe deeply, you activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which reduces stress and counters the fight-or-flight response triggered by alcohol consumption. This helps lower blood pressure, alleviate tension, and calm the body, allowing it to recover more quickly.

Plus, deep breathing increases the oxygen levels while simultaneously decreasing the amount of c02 in your blood. This in turn boosts circulation, improves energy, and supports the detoxification process, helping your body rid itself of the byproducts of alcohol.

Wim Hof Method breathing always works best for me, it’s pretty straightforward. Just make sure you’re lying down or sitting down in a comfortable position. Do not practice this driving, standing up, or while in or around water seeing as there’s a small chance you could temporarily lose consciousness. Here it is in a nutshell:

  1. Take 30 deep, controlled breaths, inhaling more than you exhale

  2. After 30 breaths, hold the last exhale for as long as you can

  3. When you really have to inhale, take a deep breath in, and squeeze your fists, arms, chest, and neck to push blood to the head. Hold this squeeze for 15 seconds

  4. Exhale, release, repeat at least two more times

It might make things worse at first temporarily, but I promise you’ll feel loads better if you push through the initial discomfort.
